This Spring Assisted Knife is quite a remarkable blade that is legal in all 50 states of the United States! It is opened by using the Index / Thumb Stud "flipper" built into the bottom of the blade ( see pics ) to start the opening process. Once the blade reaches a 30 - 40% angle via the flipper a spring will assist and slam the blade open the rest of the way. The flipper / stud also creates a hand guard when opened offering extra safety to the user. It's important to note that this knife is not classified as a switchblade and in fact was designed to be legal alternative to switchblades which are illegal in many municipalities.

To illustrate further the beauty of this spring assisted feat of engineering lies in its handle / pivot area where a wound-up internal spring has been nested. This is what assists in the opening of the knife once it has been manually opened to a 30-40 degree angle.
