The spring assisted knife is quite a remarkable blade. Developed because of laws and municipalities that bar or prevent one from legally owning and/or carrying automatic switchblade knives, it is the perfect solution!

This spring assisted knife, in contrast to a standard automatic switchblade knife, is not opened by pressing an activating button (the button is what gets an automatic knife classified as illegal) , it is opened by using the index-open "flipper", which creates a hand guard when it is open.

The beauty of this spring assisted feat of engineering lies in its pivot area where a wound-up internal spring has been nested that assists in the opening of the knife.
