This Heavy Duty Mtech USA Spring Assisted Knife weighs in at 6.4 oz and is equipped with a 4" Plain Edge Razor Sharp Drop Point 440C Stainless Steel blade that is 3mm in thickness and 1.5" in width.  This provides the longevity, durability, and corrosion resistance found in some of the most expensive cutlery!  The blade is mated to a durable Stainless Steel Extended Tang Frame with Textured Aluminum Scales( Skull Pops Up off of the Knife Handle and is not flat see pics ). The Extended Tang provides enhanced finger protection while providing an aggressive look.  Add to all this, a handy / removable pocket clip and you have a knife that is conveniently suited to most tasks making it great for an EDC (everyday carry).   The weight of this knife feels beefy in the hand and is great for users needing a solid EDC workhorse type knife. 

The spring assisted knife, in contrast to a standard automatic switchblade knife, is not opened by pressing an activating button (the button is what gets an automatic knife classified as illegal in some municipalities.) , it is opened by using the index-open "flipper", which creates a hand guard when it is open.

To summarize the internal spring featured in this knife assists and finishes the opening process once the index flipper is pushed. That's right!!! Once the blade has reached a 30-40 degree angle, it automatically slams open the rest of the way !!!
